Two is Better than One.

He's my other half.
That's the weirdest thing about love, you think you're completely fine until you meet that one person, and then you realize that if they were taken from you, you wouldn't be whole.

"He's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same."
Emily Bronte

If you're reading this you may want to jump over here, and read my back story... If you already read that, then sorry I interrupted you.
A friend of mine, the one in the picture from my post yesterday, Laney, came down with a bag of my favorite candy and a mix cd. She lives right up the street from me, and is one of the most hilarious friends I've ever had. But we had gotten in a disagreement over something, the summer before, so we hadn't been talking. But when she brought the lovely, thoughtful, little gifts down we reconnected. She invited me to go to a youth group outing with her church, to our local bowling alley. I love bowling so I couldn't say no!
So one day last January I went and hung out with her youth group, and met this guy named Matt. He was Laney's older brother Jared's best friend. {All I knew at that point.} It wasn't a love at first sight thing, I don't think we really talked. He was shy, and I was busy talking to the people that I already knew. So that was that.
Now last year, I was in a play. And there was a guy who I had previously dated, that I {for some reason} wanted to date again. He was a jerk, and not really what I needed or wanted but you know... We all have done it. Anyway he kept leading me on, and leading me on, until he just stops. He starts completely ignoring me. I obviously moved on, and I realized he didn't matter pretty fast. And the whole time I'd been hanging out pretty steadily with Laney, Jared, and Matt. It was nice cause Matt had a car, so he drove us everywhere.
I didn't know this then but Matt was actually going behind my back and asking Laney about me, about if I had a boyfriend. Which this was early enough in the summer that I was still head over heels for whats his face. So Laney told him I was kinda seeing someone, and he says he got discouraged a bit, but knew he'd treat me better so he kept pursuing.
One day I got a Facebook message from him {Still have it, is that sad?} that said, Hey, text me if you want. :)  and his number. I knew he was flirting, but figured I'd text him just cause we were friends. So we texted every now and then. But I went on a mission trip last summer, and they really didn't like our phones on. That was one whole week no talking. And the he went to North Carolina to visit his friend. Well he was working 12 hour days, and then was really busy after work so those couple weeks went by and we barely talked. But the last week of July, and first week of August my mom went to the Thirty-One conference, and a MOPS conference. Leaving me home with 3 children and no car. Yayyyy. Well Laney, who ever her boyfriend was at the time, Jared, and Matt all came over like everyday. We'd all just sit in my living room and talk. Me and Matt would talk more, he was so funny. Is... so funny... And I was so comfortable around him. One of the last nights my mom was gone, Laney and Jared both walked home, and me and Matt sat and talked. Mainly about his family, why he doesn't have a father. My family, why I didn't have a father. I just trusted him, and I could tell that he didn't judge me for it. He was so great. So now he was a really great friend, that I had a kind of big crush on. And the only reason I held back, was because I was kinda afraid that if we ever split, then our little friendship circle would be ruined. Worth the risk. SO worth the risk.
The Gang! From left, Matt, me, Laney, and Jared.
He kept trying to reel me in, took me to the fair, which is my FAVORITE place in the entire world. And bought me roasted corn, from this local farmer, that has this giganto corn roaster, that produces the most wonderful, buttery, salty, tasting corn on the cob in the universe. No lie guys. A little later in August he even asked me to go to the mall with him to get Laney a birthday present, cause he needed help. Later he confessed to wanting to go out, with only me, and he didn't really need help. He was sneaky.
Probably within the second week of the month he asked if I wanted to be his girlfriend, which I, kind of meanly, said no. Because I though he should take me out on a proper date before it was made official. And I wanted a real date. Cause not that dinner and movies are bad... but not my ideal first date material. Dinner's awkward, can't talk during the movie. No fun.
On August 19th, after hanging out all day he finally had to leave so I was walking him out to his car, and we stood in the street kinda dancing. and he pulled me in and kissed me. And oh my butterflies. And blushing. And standing in the driveway till the blood came out of my cheeks so I could casually walk past my mom, who was sitting on the front porch, {behind a bush, so she didn't see the kiss. Not that it would have mattered, but I'm not to big in the PDA.}
The very next day was Laney's surprise party, and afterwards, at 11:51 pm, we decided to go ahead and make it official. Which was horrible timing cause with it being almost the next day we couldn't decided if our anniversary date would be the 20th or 21st. Finally decided the 20th. After 4 months.
We've literally been inseparable since that last week of July. I could bore you for days with a bunch of great memories. I think I'll save how he told me he loved me for a different post. It was cute.
On Black Friday though, Matt went out and got my engagement ring, which was supposed to be my Christmas present, but he got so excited he proposed on Monday, November 28th.
It was a Monday, which is co-op Monday, and I had been up so late the night before and awake by 8 I was falling asleep sitting up. I had gone down to his house to hang out, but as I was so tired he drove me home. And after he got me up out of his car, {I didn't wanna move} he dragged me to the end of the driveway, where a little over 3 months before he had first kissed me and asked me how much I loved him. Note: I was so tired, NONE of this was registering. No red flag, nothing. I replied to him, with 'More than anything. Why?' And he pulled out the ring.
Right after! Not so tired afterwards, haha.
Better view!
And there you have it. Our love story.
Oh, the title is the name of our song. You should go check it out on youtube.
Have a lovely day friends. Sorry for the super duper long post AGAIN today!
